Limited Access Wharthog
Check out the video below for a demonstration our limited access unit, the Wharthog. This unit is particularly well suited for operation indoors as it is only three feet wide and can fit through a conventional doorway.
The track mounted Wharthog is highly maneuverable, featuring rubber tracks for minimal site impact. It is exactly 36” wide and nine feet long. It quickly sets up on location using the hydraulic controls with a working mast height of only seven feet high.
Similar to its larger brother, the Rhino, Gregg’s Wharhog drill is capable of auger drilling or direct push sampling and installations. It is powerful enough to turn 6” or 8” outer diameter augers and can install up to 2” diameter wells.
The Wharthog utilizes a direct push style hammer to advance tooling and samplers into the subsurface. Standard split spoon samples can be collected via direct push for easy soil classification and lab testing. Groundwater and soil vapor samples can also be collected using industry standard methods.
The ease of set-up along with the maneuverability of the unit makes it an excellent choice for working inside buildings, parking garages and around existing machinery or structures.
