Delta Conveyance

Scope of work:

Gregg Drilling worked with AECOM and Kleinfelder on the Delta Conveyance project to modernize the aging infrastructure in the
Delta and protect the reliability of water deliveries across California.

California’s Department of Water Resources (DWR) was charged with addressing sea level rise and climate change as well as minimizing water supply disruption due to seismic risk. The project involved design and construction of two new intakes in the north Delta and investigations for a below ground tunnel for water transport.

Highlights:

• Mud rotary drilling & pressuremeter testing with Pitcher Services
• Tracked drill rig mobilized on a barge for over-water portion of the investigation
• Cooperation with Woocheen partners, CS Marine (barge) and Pitcher Services (on-land drilling & specialized testing) allowed Gregg to provide a full service solution
• Drilling from Quin Delta, Gregg’s custom drill ship
• Contract value $1.4M
